Ani Amiraghyan beats her Turkish rival, reaches final round

Armenia’s best tennis player Ani Amiraghyan will compete for the first prize at an international women’s tennis tournament underway in Antalya, Turkey.

Amiraghyan, 22, today entered the finals. Before that, she beat Swiss Chiara Grimm (6-4, 6-0), Macedonian Lina Gjorcheska (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) and Hungarian Wanda Lucas (6-3, 6-4). In the semi-final, Amiraghyan beat in two sets Turkey’s Ayla Aksu 6:3, 6:3 to storm into the final round of the cup.

In the final round due on January 31, the Armenian tennis player will face Başak Eraydın of Turkey.
