Up to 68,400 tons of fruits and vegetables have been exported from Armenia so far this year, says the Ministry of Agriculture, adding that this is an increase over the figure reported for the same period of last year that stood at 40,900 tons.
According to the report, 10,500 tons of grapes were exported this year against the previous year’s 5,800 tons, 980 tons of apples against 16 tons in 2014 and 210 tons of date plums against 63 tons during the same period last year.
Some 10,100 tons of cabbage and cauliflowers have been exported from Armenia so far this year against 1,965 tons at this time a year ago. Also exported have been 2,770 tons of garden radish and 1,400 tons of greens against 750 and 880 tons, respectively last year.
The bulk of the fresh fruits and vegetables exports was to Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Iran.
