Luxembourg envoy in Ankara explains decision to recognize Armenian Genocide

The decision made by Luxembourg Parliament to recognize the 1915 events as genocide is targeted at solving the problem of the past, Luxembourg’s Ambassador in Ankara Arlette Conzemius said.

The Ambassador touched upon the decision on the Armenian Genocide during a conference in Erzrum, Anatolian information agency reported.

“The decision made by our parliament was a message to solve the problem of the past and ensure peace. It was not targeted at anyone. We managed to become friends with our two major foes – France and Germany,” Conzemius added.

As reported earlier, Turkey recalled Ambassador from Luxembourg after the parliament recognized the Armenian Genocide.
