President of Armenian Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Paolo Gentiloni.
Welcoming the guest to Armenia, the President expressed satisfaction with the fact that the centuries-old Armenian-Italian ties are full of various manifestations of friendship, based on which the interstate relations formed during 25 years after Armenia’s independence have developed.
Sargsyan expressed hope that the visit of Mr Gentilioni will give a new impetus to the political dialogue between Armenia and Italy, contributing to the deepening of the existing cooperation in various areas. The interlocutors also referred to the issues of fostering the bilateral economic ties.
Apart from this, the Armenian President and Italian Foreign Minister exchanged views on regional issues and challenges, including the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, as well as the priorities of Italy’s chairmanship in the OSCE in 2018.
